Buying and developing make-believe properties with make-believe money inspired the grade-schooler. And he was good at it. September 20 2007 - New deli opening creates jobs for college students BLOOMINGTON, IN - After several years of vacancy, a space in Eastland Plaza, located between Third Street and College Mall Road will reopen as a McAlister’s Deli franchise, creating new employment opportunities for IU students and local residents.
Greg Prine, general manager of Bloomington’s first McAlister’s, expects to employ a mix of 75 to 80 students and residents once it opens Oct. 1. Prine said the deli understands students are busy and tries to work with their schedules. |

INDIANAPOLIS - The Westside retail area near Lafayette Place shopping center has seen its ups and downs in recent years.
A Super K at 3583 Commercial Drive -- located in the shopping center -- was closed by Kmart in 2003, and other big-box stores in Lafayette Square Mall and adjacent strip centers along West 38th Street have come and gone.
That hasn't dissuaded Sandor Development Co. from trying its luck at re-leasing and possibly redeveloping Lafayette Place. |
